City Council Speaker Christine Quinn appointed a Queens representative to the position of City Clerk yesterday, infuriating members in Brooklyn.
Quinn’s appointment of Acting City Clerk Michael McSweeney passed by a 32-16 vote. All but one member of the 16-person Brooklyn delegation voted against him, largely because they feel Quinn favors Queens with plum council appointments.
