DAZZLING FASHIONS LET STARS GLITTER

The red carpet was pink, like the cosmos they drink, but the fashion was money, honey.

Last night, at Radio City Music Hall, the fab four brought glamour back to the show’s back yard with the much anticipated premiere of “Sex and the City.”

From custom-made fripperies by hometown designers to armloads of diamonds by Fred Leighton, the premiere was a glitzy appetizer for the main course of fashion gourmandise.

Sarah Jessica Parker has a lot of fans to wow and she did. She tipped her nameplate necklace to namesake Carrie as the silver belle of the ball in a strapless metallic carpet-sweeper by Nina Ricci from the spring 2008 collection – but custom-made for the actress.

Leighton, the Madison Avenue baubler who regularly provides rarities for the Oscars, laid out the gems for the quartet for the night.

Parker wore her fair share of the necklaces, opting for no fewer than three antiques: a 19th century diamond riviere, a 19th century diamond and pearl fringe and a 19th century gold diamond snake necklace.

She also wore diamond pendant earrings at 6.76 carats and 8.66 carats, each as well as a 9-carat diamond solitaire ring.

Kristen Davis gave Charlotte a lesson in lamé with a gold pleated off-the-shoulder dress made for her by Donna Karan and valued at about $10,000.

Like a true New York fashion girl, she went Christian Louboutin all the way in a pair of “Very Privé” peep-toe sequined pumps, $995, and a frame clutch, $740, with the designer’s signature clasp: a pair of crystal-encrusted stilettos.

Davis loaded on the rocks, including 19th century diamond pendant earrings, a 19th century diamond bracelet, and on her finger, a black Alexandrite and diamond ring that weighed in at a whopping 24 carats.

Is Cynthia Nixon trying out bridal gowns? Nixon was recently asked if she would get married to her gal pal if New York recognizes same-sex marriages and she said she would.

She wore a white silk embroidered dress made for her by Narciso Rodriguez.

Kim Cattrall got the metallic memo in an understated and womanly beaded Vivienne Westwood cocktail dress, with a pair of old-mine diamond pendant earrings and a Tahitian pearl and diamond ring from Leighton.
