CLINTON-ERA THROWBACK: BAM’S 9/10 PRIORITIES

Your editorial hits the mark and details why an inexperienced senator must not be the next president of the United States (“John Kerry Lite,” PostOpinion, June 19) .

Sen. Barack Obama claims that Iraq is a distraction and that we should go after “the people responsible for 9/11.”

It is the radical Islamist ideology that needs to be defeated through the Bush doctrine of preemptive attacks.

Spreading democratic principles is essential to negating hatred of the United States.

Why Obama is taking advice from these Clinton era Keystone Kops, who were on watch for several terrorist attacks against the United States, defies logic.

I expect Obama next to appoint Jimmy Carter as his chief hostage negotiator.

It should be obvious to all that the Obama/Kerry answer to terrorism is the same failed, after-the-fact defensive approach as the Clinton administration’s.

The Bush administration’s approach has been offensive – to get al Qaeda before the next 9/11.

The proof is in the fact that there have been no subsequent 9/11s here.

How many cities will be dirty bombed because of the John Kerry approach?

Obama’s preference to put terrorists on trial will do more to promote their cause than any act of terror.

A trial is a privilege extended to citizens of civilized countries. Terrorists are no more civilized then the acts of terror they perpetuate.

If we permit these terrorists trials, then we must also make available to them all of the fruits of our judicial system, including legal representation.

By doing so, we acknowledge the possibility of their innocence.

The expense of these trials will be borne by the US taxpayer and will encumber an already burdened legal system.

The TV coverage will manifest the terrorists’ recruiting efforts more than a national advertising campaign.

This could be the beginning of a national nightmare.

Is Obama kidding us?

Selecting such Clinton-era losers as Warren Christopher shows just how naive he really is.

If Obama wants to go back to the pre-9/11 way of protecting this country from terrorists, let him find a time machine somewhere. But do not put this country at jeopardy.

Thank goodness that Obama hasn’t been elected yet and that, with the way he shows his inexperience, he probably won’t be.

Does anyone need any more proof that Obama is in over his head?

Just read the names of the people he is reaching out to for a helping hand: Christopher, Madeline Albright, Richard Clarke.

If these are the kind of folks this guy is going to depend on for assistance, he needs not only foreign-policy guidance but help crossing the street.

Obama has assembled a cadre of incompetents to help him with foreign-policy decisions. They will embolden the enemy and ensure more attacks.

These are the individuals who failed to recognize terrorist threats prior to 9/11. In fact, they were oblivious to the numerous terrorist acts of the last 30 years, resulting in loss of lives and great suffering.

Going back to a pre-9/11 mindset is evidence that Obama does not understand the threat to America. Apparently, the word “change” is a mere slogan used to obtain votes from the uninformed.

I wouldn’t buy Kerry Lite.

It is far too expensive, and it lacks a certain punch. Its flavor can be best described as insipid, and its only appeal is to snobs.
