BLAKE IS LATEST CANNED ‘IDOL’

BLAKE Lewis, the “American Idol” run ner-up to Jordin Sparks last year, is the latest to lose his record contract, according to reports.

Lewis, the beat-boxing singer who was a fan fave during the competition, said in an internet radio interview posted over the weekend that his label, Arista, did not want to do a second CD with him.

Lewis first CD, “Audio Day Dream,” failed to produce a hit single and has sold only a modest – for an “Idol” alum – 300,000 copies since it was released last Christmas.

He joins “Idol” winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard, who – along with runner-up Katharine McPhee – were also cut loose this year by Arista.
