METS FAN JULIA SNAPS AT JETER

Actress and devoted Mets fan Julia Stiles got behind the lens at Shea Stadium over the weekend to check out the competition – Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter.

The native New Yorker snapped a shot of Jeter as he loosened up in the on-deck circle.

Stiles, wearing a baseball cap over her blond tresses and seated with her guy pal, stood up to take careful aim as Jeter swung a weighted bat Saturday.

It wasn’t a good baseball day for the actress, who co-starred with Matt Damon in “The Bourne Identity.” The Yankees won 3-2. But it wasn’t a good day for Jeter either – he went hitless in four at-bats.

On Sunday, the Mets won 3-1 and clinched the 2008 Subway Series four games to two.

In 2006, Stiles was on the field at Shea, throwing out the opening pitch at the May 29 game between the Mets and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

“That’s like, that was probably the highlight of my life!” she told Moving Pictures Magazine last year about the experience.
