OBAMA MOVES ON

There he goes again.

Barack Obama yesterday laced into the loony-left MoveOn.org for its New York Times ad last fall calling Gen. David Petraeus, then America’s top commander in Iraq, “General Betray Us.”

He didn’t mention any names, but his target was obvious. In a speech condemning “caricatures of the left and right,” Obama noted that during the Iraq debate, “a general providing his best counsel on how to move forward in Iraq was accused of betrayal.”

“We can no longer afford these sorts of divisions,” Obama piously intoned.

Really? Then where was he in September, when the Senate voted 72-25 to “strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of Gen. Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces”?

Absent, that’s where. He was far too fearful of stepping on the toes of MoveOn to take a stand.

Lucky him. MoveOn endorsed him.

That Obama only now – as he tries to make voters forget his far-left voting record – has the “courage” to defend Gen. Petraeus is not just hypocritical.

It’s disgraceful.
