Hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous winners – all of whom took home six-figure cash prizes – the newest batch comes from all over the US and represents all walks of education – from self-taught seamstresses to art college grads.
Of course New York -the fashion capital of America – is well-represented. Five live and work in the city. And six attended fashion schools here – three graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology, two from Parsons School of Design and one from the Pratt Institute.
