HERE’S your first look at “Ugly Betty” star America Ferrera shooting her first scenes in New York City.
Ferrera, and the rest of the ABC sitcom, moved from LA to Silvercup Studios in Long Island City, where “Betty” will be filmed this season.
Ferrera was out and about yesterday in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn, shooting scenes for this fall’s first episode.
“Betty” is among the first major productions to take advantage of a new expansion of New York State’s Film Production Credit tax program, which allows bigger, more expensive TV shows and films to qualify for a tax break.
“Betty’s” move from LA to NYC – where the show is set – is believed to have created at least 200 full and part-time jobs.
