IT WAS ALL IN GOOD CHASTE: RANDY REV.

A pastor who fell from grace and lost his job at a ritzy Fifth Avenue church after an alleged affair with a married parishioner says they never had sex, despite her frequent attempts.

The Rev. Thomas Tewell, 59, admitted in court papers that he and divinity student Rachel Vione had an affair, but said that it was a short-lived, mutual relationship driven by a “star-struck” woman who sought to emulate him by pursuing theological studies.

Tewell, who has been sued by Vione for sexual harassment, said the affair lasted three months and was never consummated.

Tewell, the former pastor of the prestigious Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, lost his job in 2005 and was suspended from the ministry after admitting to the affair.

In her court papers, Vione claimed Tewell used information he gleaned about her and her husband during a couples’ retreat and used it to manipulate her into having “an inappropriate relationship.”

Vione said that while Tewell was supervising her in 2005 during a trip, the married minister propositioned her after seeing her silhouette.

“It was a good thing I was wearing a robe,” Tewell said, according to the court document.
