BLIGE SUED OVER TUNE

A California hip-hop label is suing singer Mary J. Blige and a popular music producer, accusing them of stealing their tunes for her megahit, “Work That.”

“The music is identical,” said Brian Caplan, a lawyer for Drama Family Entertainment, who filed the suit yesterday in Manhattan federal court.

The production company and record label claims they hired star mixer Theron Feemster – who produced “The Hills” star Heidi Montag’s single – in 2006 to record some music for their catalogue collection, which would be doled out to their artists.

During that period, Feemster created a song titled “Pull 1 Rough,” which Drama Family alleges sounds exactly like Mary J. Blige’s single from her critically-acclaimed “Growing Pains” album, according to the lawsuit, which also names Blige’s record label Interscope Geffen.

The Blige song was used in an Apple advertisement.

Blige’s lawyer and Feemster did not return a call for comment. Interscope said they do not comment on pending litigation.
