VICTORIA Principal, the former “Dallas” star, is trying to become a pilot on Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic spacecraft, according to a published report.
The actress, now 58, is a qualified pilot and already one of the first people booked to fly the commercial space ship.
Branson unveiled the White Knight Two last week in a ceremony in California’s Mojave Desert that she attended and spoke at – asking some pointed questions.
During the Q&A portion of the ceremony, Principal asked some questions about pilot training. “And will Virgin Galactic have any women pilots?” was her final question, which was met with a round of applause, according to reports.
Principal is among 120 people who have reportedly paid $200,000 for the two-and-a-half hour trip that will take them 70 miles above the Earth – with a brief experience of weightlessness at the end.
The spacecraft carries six passengers and two pilots.
