QNS. SWARM BUGS COPS

A massive swarm of creepy bugs infesting a Queens house sent two cops and the homeowner to the hospital yesterday, authorities said.

The swarm – described as ticks or fleas – was so pervasive that cops who responded to an emergency call from the home of Ronald Mitchell on 113th Road found themselves “up to their knees in bugs,” a source told The Post.

At about 10 a.m., a Con Ed field rep went to Mitchell’s house to read the meter. He emerged minutes later covered in the nasty black critters.

The worker came “running out of the house, yelling, ‘Get ’em off me!’ ” said neighbor Dianna Duncan.

Cops who went into the home also bolted out covered from their “necks to their feet” with the insects, said Duncan, who hosed down the officers.

Mitchell, 66, and the two cops were taken to Jamaica Hospital.
