HOT-DOG BLAZE: SHOCK & AWNING

A posh Upper East Side corner turned into an old-fashioned weenie roast yesterday.

A hot-dog cart caught fire, shooting flames up the awning of a Ralph Lauren store before firefighters extinguished it with no injuries or further damage.

“I turned on the hose and lit the fire and ‘Boom!’ ” shaken cart worker Alla Ali, 50, said of the 9 a.m. blaze. “It’s hard to breathe. I’m shocked and scared.”

The FDNY blamed the blaze on frayed edges on the hose connecting the tank and the cooking area of Ali’s cart.
