LIFE ON THE BUNNY TRAIL

HANGING up the bunny ears, packing up from the mansion, giving a kissy-poo goodbye to Hugh Hefner – what’s life really like after being a Playmate?

Don’t just believe E!’s “The Girls Next Door,” which starts up its fifth season this fall – or Anna Faris’ new movie “The House Bunny,” in theaters tomorrow. If you really want the inside dish on the grueling obstacles of life post-Playmate-dom and what it’s like to be in Hef’s inner circle, ask the nubile young ladies themselves.

“There’s no such thing as a former Playmate,” clarifies Miss February 1986, Julie McCullough. “It’s not like Playboy divorces us. It’s not like a former life. You’re always a Playmate.”

Confirms Playboy assistant editor Rocky Rakovic: “A Playmate is a Playmate forever.”

Whatever. As long as they look pretty naked.

Which, um, is not necessarily always the case. For a truly frightening look into post-Playboy-life, check out the YouTube user who calls herself “playboyboobyhatch.” (She was once Miss April ’66, Karla Conway.) The full history of the kooky centerfold surfer is also online at explayboybunnies.com.

“It’s very much like a sorority,” explains Lindsey Vuolo, a Jewish Playmate who says her hot centerfold dispels negative stereotypes about Jews not being hot centerfolds. “Some of my best friends are Playmates.”

That’s nice.

Because some of our best friends are Jewish Playmates.

To better edify young men and women everywhere, The Post asked these totally open-minded and fun-loving girls everything from what their bra sizes are to how their steamy centerfolds changed the course of humanity forever.

Tiffany Fallon

Age: 34 Bust: 34D Waist: 25″ Hips: 35″ Height: 5’6″ Weight: 118-ish

Issue to dust off: December ’04

You may remember: She was the first one kicked off Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” and then appeared two months pregnant in a

Wonder Woman costume on the cover of the February 2008 Playboy.

What she does now: She’s a hot mom, married to Joe Don Rooney of the country singing group Rascal Flatts.

Why she’s kind of awesome: She’s not just a Playmate, honey, she’s a Playmate of the Year. Oh – and she’s the second-oldest Playmate of the Year ever chosen, at the elderly age of 31.

Why being a Playmate makes her a better mom: “Better equipment, no pun intended.”

Whom does she like better, the Hefster or the Trumpinator: “They’re both obviously loaded and friendly guys, but I’d take Hugh Hefner any day.”

Julie McCullough

Age: 43 Bust: 36D Waist: 24″ Hips: 35″ Height: 5’7″ Weight: 115

Issue to dust off: February ’86

You may remember: She was fired from “Growing Pains” after Kirk Cameron found God and didn’t want her dirty sexy ways on the show.

What she does now: Stand-up comedy as “The Funny Bunny.”

Standard joke: Pulling socks out of her top.

Playmate wisdom: “Performing in front of Hef was like performing in front of my dad – I look up to him so much.”

If you go to the mansion, be sure to order: “Grilled cheese and tomato soup, that’s one of my favorites.”

What being a Playmate taught her: “I had never been to a gynecologist until I was 22 years old. It took another young Playmate to take me.”

How did her centerfold benefit the world? “Financially, it benefited me at the time. Maybe it helped them relieve themselves, but I’m not on the other side of the computer.”

Alison Waite

Age: 26 Bust: 34C Waist: 24″ Hips: 30″ Height: 5’6″ Weight: 112

Issue to dust off: May ’06

You may remember: She’s the Las Vegas correspondent on “Extra.”

What is her latest achievement? “I was just in a New Kids on the Block video. I’m Jordan’s love interest.”

What can she tell you about how to look sexy naked: “The best advice I got was don’t try to look sexy. When people try and they pout their lips, it looks bad.”

On “The Girls Next Door”: “I lived at the mansion for a year and a half, and Hef’s girlfriends and I are very close. Of all the reality shows, it does a really good job capturing their personality.”

How did her centerfold change the world? “Oh my goodness. The opportunities for me have been endless.”

Juliette Rose Fretté

Age: 24 Bust: 34D Waist: 25″ Hips: 36″ Height: 5’7″ Weight: Smiley Face

(seriously, that’s what she put)

Issue to dust off: June ’08

You may remember: She has a degree in women’s studies and, in her nudie layout, wrote about how posing naked was empowering.

What she does now: Book deal, yo. She’s expanding her UCLA honors thesis “Posing for Playboy From a Feminist Perspective.” The word empowerment will be used aplenty.

Hardest thing about no longer being this month’s flavor? “It’s not as if no one is paying attention to me. It’s actually not the case, especially if you choose to continue working for Playboy. It’s months away from being June, things haven’t really changed much.”

On getting kicked out of her sorority: “I think it’s really unfortunate that in this day and age people are afraid of women’s bodies.”

Is feminism one of her turn-ons? “Does feminism turn me on? Not sexually – but feminism certainly intrigues me.”

Lindsay Vuolo

Age: 26 Bust: 34DD Waist: 24″ Hips: 35″ Height: 5’8″ Weight: 130

Issue to dust off: November ’01

You may remember: She had a big fight with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, author of “Kosher Sex,” who talked about catering to “men’s shallowness.” She came across as pretty damn intelligent.

What she does now: She’s looking for a job after just finishing a graduate degree in p.r. abroad in Greece. Want to hire her? “I have on my résumé not that I was a Playmate, more like a brand ambassador.”

Want to see her naked online? It’s not that hard. She runs a risqué Web site

where you can dress her up.

Is she on JDate?: Hells no. “I don’t want to sound pretentious and say, ‘Oh, I’m

going to crash the server,’ but I’d rather meet people face to face.”
