The curious and shocking tale of Timothy Treadwell, the environmentalist who lived among bears, documented their behavior and then was gruesomely devoured by a grizzly, has been fleshed out in a new series on Animal Planet. “The Grizzly Man Diaries” draws upon hundreds of hours of archived footage, private pages from Treadwell’s diaries and more than 10,000 still photographs to tell his story in the decade before his death at Katmai National Park in Alaska.

When Hallmark turns on the waterworks, there aren’t enough tissues on the planet to dry those tears. In their latest offering, firefighter Steve (Mark Consuelos) loses his job after his wife dies in a car accident and his despair affects his job performance. But then he rescues a woman from an apartment fire that he spots while walking home. Grace, like Steve, is an emotional wreck, but she’s also a writer and soon she’s helping Steve put together a cookbook of firehouse recipes. Together, these two lost souls find the strength to face the future.
