The 10-year-old boy whose mother, father and three sisters died in a Chelsea fire over the weekend is brain dead, a family spokesman said yesterday.
Jonzan Joa-Balbuena will be taken off life support today, grieving family members said.
“He was our only hope,” said the boy’s devastated aunt Nelly Saeteros Balbuena. “We just hope they can harvest his organs so that his organs can save somebody else’s life.”
Jonzan’s father, Maschay Joa Valdez, 40; mother, Delkis Balbuena, 34; and three sisters, Nanny, 8, Bet-el, 3, and Ruth, 1, died on Saturday when the blaze ripped through their West 18th Street apartment.
