Recycling in public just got easier with the addition of 105 blue and green bins throughout the five boroughs, Mayor Bloomberg announced yesterday.
The mayor called the cost of the program’s expansion to 33 new locations minimal, especially since containers for newspapers and recyclable products will go along existing collection routes.
“The key to maintaining the city’s high quality of life, even during tough times, is learning to do more with less,” Bloomberg said.
The public recycling program was launched in April 2007 with 126 bins at 10 sites.
