A Greenwich Village man who found his unconscious girlfriend being raped in their vestibule not only tackled and held her attacker, but also called the cops while doing it, police sources said.
The man buzzed his 30-year-old girlfriend into their Fifth Avenue apartment building at around 7 p.m. Saturday.
But when minutes passed and she still hadn’t appeared, the boyfriend went looking for her.
In the vestibule, he allegedly saw his girlfriend lying motionless on the floor, with Dean Rogich atop her, police said.
Rogich, 28, is being held without bail on rape and other charges.
Rogich told detectives, “I followed her into the building so I could rob her.”
