Unemployed basketball fans who lost jobs because of the tough economy are netting free game tickets as part of a plan to help them get back to work.
Starting today, the New Jersey Nets are asking fans to e-mail them their résumés. They’ll forward them to the club’s 150 sponsors.
In exchange for the job applications, the club is giving out free upper-level tickets to one of five games, starting with the Nov. 22 tilt against the LA Clippers.
“Coming to the game is entertaining and it’s a means of escape that people need now more than ever,” said Nets CEO Brett Yormark.
