MAYORAL MADNESS: TAXES AND TERM LIMITS

If Mayor Bloomberg is elected for a third term after disclosing his plans for all these tax hikes, then the people of New York City get what they deserve (“$preading the Pain,” Nov. 6).

This man will tax the air we breathe if we elect him for another four years.

The problem lies with the corrupt politicians and Wall Street big shots stealing from the system, not the working man, who is already over-taxed.

How does Bloomberg expect people to survive? Government is keeping more than half of the income we already make with all these high taxes. All this is doing is driving people out of New York.

Bloomberg wants us to pay more for less when, in fact, he should take his own advice and do more with less.

Mayor Bloomberg was right in overturning term limits, as he truly is the only person who can guide us through these turbulent financial times.

What great innovative thinking on his part to raise the personal-income, sales and property taxes and to reinstate the sales tax on clothing.

Will these hikes be temporary and expire when the economy improves? I doubt it.

Great job, Bloomberg.

While reversing term limits enabling him to run for a third term, Bloomberg has proposed to raise our taxes, eliminate property-rebate checks and cut city jobs and services.

Perhaps he should realize that, regardless of our fiscal situation, New Yorkers are not a punching bag for his political chutzpah.

Mayor, you need to see the big picture – not everyone has financial freedom.

Until you walk in our shoes and struggle financially every day to raise and feed a family, all while paying taxes, you cannot realize the impact that this decision will have on the familes who trusted you.

Your motives concern me and make me very skeptical of even considering voting for you for another term.

I will be voting for Bloomberg because he has been a great mayor during a difficult period, and that period is only going to become more difficult.

He is the right man for the right job at the right time.
