THE BEAUTIFUL TRUTH

‘THE Beautiful Truth,” a preachy documentary written and directed by Steve Kroschel, contends that there is a cure for cancer – and it’s to be found in a 50-year-old book by one Dr. Max Gerson.

The book says that the disease can be banished by a dietary regimen that rids the body of chemicals found in processed food.

Kroschel contends that Gerson’s findings and other possible cancer cures have been unfairly dismissed by greedy pharmaceutical companies (is there any other kind?) and the American Cancer Society.

There may be truth in what Kroschel says, but you won’t find it in this pedantic film, which has all the veracity of a late-night TV infomercial.

Running time: 93 minutes. Not rated (mature themes). At the Quad, 13th Street, between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
