Greed is not good: ‘Gekko’

Greed is good — for nothing, says “Wall Street” star Michael Douglas, who all but swore off the stock market after taking a beating in the 2008 crash.

Unlike Gordon Gekko, Douglas, 65, gambled and lost more than a third of his fortune two years ago.

“I lost 35 to 40 percent of my net worth on the ’08 crash,” he told British Esquire. “Didn’t do anything. Just watched it go down.”

Still, when the market bounced back, he recovered much of his losses, he said.
