Oprah plans evening talk show on her cable network

Oprah Winfrey announced today that she’ll host an evening show on her new cable network.

“Oprah’s Next Chapter,” an hourlong show, will release Winfrey from the studio and her longtime talk-show format for conversations and travel around the world, the Oprah Winfrey Network announced.

But it’s going to have a very different look from her current daytime talk show.

Instead of being shot in a studio, plans Oprah plans to go on the road, broadcasting from places like Egypt and China.

“I’m going to take viewers with me, going to take celebrities I want to interview with me” around the world, Winfrey told the Wall Street Journal.

The show will run about two or three times a week on OWN, which is aiming to start broadcasting in January.

.Meanwhile, Kitty Kelley’s unauthorized Oprah bio is about to be released, but the only place you’ll see Kelley interviewed about it is on NBC.

Kelley — famed for her scandalous biographies of Nancy Reagan and Frank Sinatra — is scheduled for live interviews during the first half of Monday’s “Today” and the second half of Tuesday’s show.

On Saturday, she’ll be on “Weekend Today” in a taped interview.

Precious little has been revealed about the 544-page “Oprah: A Biography” beyond the fact that Kelley interviewed 850 people over three years — and that the book will delve into Winfrey’s personal life and impact on American pop culture.

Kelley’s publicity TV schedule is surprisingly subdued, especially in comparison to other much-hyped authors’ attempts at promoting their latest tomes.
