Apple to announce ‘iAd’ today

Apple will talk about its new mobile ad platform today, at an event to preview its new iPhone operating system, the Post has learned.

Madison Avenue has been buzzing with speculation for weeks that Apple would debut a mobile ad platform that would make it easy for developer to plug ads into apps for the iPhone and other Apple devices.

Apple is being coy about the details, but has contacted some agencies offering to give them a demo of the platform.

The ad system would be Apple’s first real foray into adverting after its acquisition of mobile ad firm Quattro Wireless for $275 million in January.
