OFFENSE

Mark Sanchez (12-15, 182 yards, 1 TD, 139.4 rating) played his best game as a pro. He was accurate, made big plays when he needed to and, most importantly, he didn’t turn the ball over. The offensive line was monstrous, handling what Alan Faneca said was more blitzing than they’ve faced all year. Rookie RB Shonn Greene rushed for 135 yards and a TD on 21 carries. RB Thomas Jones (15-34, 1 TD) scored a key TD. A

DEFENSE

Not a great day on run defense as Bengals RB Cedric Benson ripped them for 169 yards and a TD on 21 carries. CB Darrelle Revis held Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco to just 2 catches for 28 yards and left him in tears at the end of the game. LB Bryan Thomas, DE Shaun Ellis and S Jim Leonhard each had a sack. B

SPECIAL TEAMS

Incredible job by K Jay Feely, who had to punt because Steve Weatherford had an irregular heartbeat before kickoff. Feely averaged 31.4 yards on 7 punts, but had only one returned on him and he put 3 inside the 20. Feely also kicked a 20-yard FG. A

COACHING

Credit Rex Ryan for pumping his team up with confidence and backing up his bold words. Ryan continues to push all the right buttons. He, too, should be commended for giving Woody Johnson the game ball after the game. This might have been offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer’s best game. He had the Bengals’ defense completely off balance and Sanchez at his sharpest. A
