Simon Cowell plots ‘World’s Got Talent’

Simon Cowell wants to put together a “World’s Got Talent” show next year with the winners of 20 competitions from around the globe, according to reports.

With more than 80 countries televising “Got Talent” shows of their own, Cowell — who owns the series — believes there are now enough performers to stage an international event, The Sun in London says.

The show will be staged from the Royal Albert Hall in London, the paper said.

Cowell would be a judge — as he is on the British version of the show — as would Piers Morgan, the former newspaper editor who is a judge both on “America’s Got Talent” and the British show.

“Oddly, Cowell thought a “World Idol” special in 2004 was a mistake. That show, won by the Norwegian “Idol,” Kurt Nilsen, showed up poorly in the ratings.

I didn’t see the point,” he said at the time. “You’re making 10 winners losers.”
