Rebecca Taylor now in Kellwood’s closet

It’s official: Rebecca Taylor has a new owner.

The upscale fashion label has been acquired by Kellwood, the New York apparel company that owns brands ranging from Vince, a chic staple at upscale department stores, to Phat Farm, an aging hip-hop label.

The deal, whose terms couldn’t be learned, confirms an exclusive report in The Post last August.

The New York-based designer, whose customers include celebrities like Kate Winslet and Sarah Jessica Parker, has been a fixture at pricey stores like Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s — although sources said growth has been stagnant recently.

With the backing of Sun Capital, Kellwood CEO Mike Kramer has been prowling for chic designers as he looks to offset declining demand for aging middle-market brands owned by the company.
