BOSTON — The youngest son of the late shah of Iran was found dead yesterday at his Boston home, a suicide after he had “struggled for years to overcome his sorrow,” his brother said.
Alireza Pahlavi, 44, died from a self-inflicted gunshot, the shah’s oldest son, Reza Pahlavi, wrote on his Web site. His statement said his brother had been “disturbed by all the ills fallen upon his beloved homeland” and killed himself.
Boston police confirmed a suicide shortly after 2 a.m. yesterday at a home on the city’s South End, but wouldn’t confirm the victim’s identity.
