Kucinich sues over ‘chip’wich

Rep. Dennis Kucinich is suing the operators and suppliers of the Capitol’s cafeteria for more than $150,000, claiming he cracked a tooth on an olive pit embedded in a sandwich wrap.

Legal papers filed by the Ohio Democrat assert the wrap he bought on April 17, 2008, “was unwholesome and unfit for human consumption.”

The suit says he was left in a pitiful condition, with “serious and permanent dental and oral injuries . . . significant pain, suffering and loss of enjoyment.”

Kucinich and his lawyer, Andrew Young, declined further comment.

“Mr. Kucinich would prefer not to try this case through the media,” Young said.

Kucinich is known for his eccentricities. During a 2007 debate, the then-presidential candidate swore he had seen an unidentified flying object.
