Snooki crosses paths with Sen. Chuck Schumer, ignores him in DC

How’s this for a political snub.

“Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was so busy signing autographs for fans in Washington today that she missed a chance to hobnob with Sen. Chuck Schumer as he passed by.

Polizzi, who was in DC for an appearance and book-signing, failed to acknowledge Schumer’s presence.

During the missed encounter, which was caught on video by Celebrity-Newz.com, someone in the crowd blurted out to Polizzi, who hails from upstate Malboro, that Schumer (D-New York) had just passed by.

The senator even paused for a moment and waved to the self-proclaimed “Princess of Poughkeepsie.”

Before leaving, Schumer was asked how he felt about the next season of “Jersey Shore” being filmed in Italy, and he even expressed his desire to have a season of MTV’s hit reality show filmed in the Empire State.

“I’d rather they film it in New York,” Schumer replied.

When Polizzi was told she missed Schumer, she simply replied, “Oh really,” before she continued on her way.

This isn’t the first brush Polizzi has had with political bigwigs. Last year, she mentioned Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) during an episode of “Jersey Shore.”

“I don’t go tanning-tanning anymore, because Obama put a 10 percent tax on tanning. I feel like he did that intentionally for us. McCain would never put a 10 percent tax on tanning, because he is pale and probably would want to be tan,” Polizzi said.

McCain subsequently responded via Twitter following the show’s debut.

“@Sn00ki u r right, I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama’s tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!” McCain’s Twitter account read.

The former presidential candidate also came to bat for Polizzi following her arrest in Seaside Heights during the Third Season of “Jersey Shore.”

“I kind of think she might be too good looking to go to jail,” explained McCain on KMLE back in August.
