Our superpower wish lists

Being able to fly would be nice; so would invisibility. But given a chance to pick one superpower, more Americans say they would want to travel through time or read other people’s minds.

Time travel and mind reading tied for first place in a Marist College poll released yesterday.

Both superpowers received 28 percent of the vote among five choices.

Flying came in third, at 16 percent, followed by the ability to teleport, at 11 percent, and invisibility, at 10 percent. Another 8 percent were unsure.

The top superpower among men: time travel, with 35 percent saying they’d pick the chance to hop back and forth in time. The most women, 30 percent, chose the ability to read minds.

The survey of 1,020 people between Nov. 15 and Nov. 18 has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
