Chris Isaak as new Simon?

Add Chris Isaak to the “Who’s gonna replace Simon?” list.

Isaak, the singer who also starred in Showtime’s “The Chris Isaak Show,” has met twice with Fox officials about possibly replacing Simon Cowell on “American Idol,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cowell left the show after this past season to work on the American version of his British hit, “The X Factor,” which launches on Fox in September 2011. He will continue to appear on the British version of the show.

While Fox has said it will take its time finding a Cowell replacement to join Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi, new entertainment chief Peter Rice said he hopes to have a new judge in place by early September. The next season of “Idol” is slated to kick off in January.

Former “Idol” music director Rickey Minor, who’s now Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” bandleader, told The Post last month he thinks Harry Connick Jr. would be a good replacement for Cowell.

Fox officials had no comment yesterday.
