‘Law & Order’ stalker will get psychiatric evaluation before sentencing

A man convicted of stalking “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” star Kathryn Erbe will undergo a psychiatric evaluation before he is sentenced by a judge.

Charles Nagel was scheduled to have been sentenced today, but a federal judge postponed the hearing after concerns arose that the defendant might be contemplating suicide if he’s sent to prison.

Judge Jack Weinstein in Brooklyn federal court ordered the examination after listening to Nagel’s wife describe her husband’s mental state.

Nagel, who lives in Philadelphia, was convicted in November of stalking Erbe through the mail and by computer.

Erbe testified during the trial and burst into tears when prosecutors showed a crudely doctored photo of her teenage daughter that Nagel posted online.

The photo featured a hand-drawn cockroach scrawled across the 14-year-old girl’s face — and a dialog bubble with the words “I’m ugly.”
