I only scammed the rich: Starr

Crooked money manager Kenneth Starr wants a break because he only stole from the rich.

Court papers filed yesterday on behalf of the celeb-scamming swindler say he isn’t nearly as bad as other fraudsters who’ve wreaked “unimaginable losses on major corporations and, in particular, on their companies’ employees and stockholders.

“There are nine victims — all of whom are incredibly wealthy individuals with millions of dollars in discretionary funds,” defense lawyer Flora Edwards wrote.

The Manhattan federal court filing ahead of his sentencing Wednesday also challenged prosecutors’ description of Starr’s $33 million-plus scam as a “Ponzi scheme,” insisting that some of the investments he made could still “yield profitable results” in the future.
