Collegiate, LuHi set to meet in tournament final

After a shaky few weeks, Collegiate has put its recent struggles in the rearview mirror, reaching Sunday’s Collegiate Invitational final. To win the tournament title, the Dutchmen will have to pull off a massive upset. They will be facing powerhouse Long Island Lutheran Sunday at 3 p.m.

Collegiate (18-7) reached the title game by knocking off FDA, 78-67, behind Rob Wechsler’s 18 points and 17 from Connor Huff. Andre Clark poured in 34 points for the Lions.

In the other semifinal, Long Island Lutheran topped Bedford Academy, 68-52, as Villanova-bound senior Achraf Yacoubou scored 15 points. Sean Snagg paced the Panthers (20-6) with 14. LuHi is 20-4. FDA and Bedford meet in the third-place game at 1:15 p.m.
