Rob Lowe on the short list to replace Charlie Sheen

Rob Lowe has been approached to replace Charlie Sheen on the hit sitcom, “Two and a Half Men.”

He is believed to be on a short list of Hollywood leading men who producers hope can anchor the popular sitcom with Sheen gone.

Sheen was fired yesterday by Warner Bros. for his outrageous behavior ranging from a bevy of booze and drug fueled benders and his ongoing, bizarre media blitz.

The show’s embattled producer, Chuck Lorre, has been holding internal meetings about how to keep the show on the air without its troubled star, according to TMZ.

Others that have been in touch with “Men” producers include John Stamos — who was ripped last week by Sheen when his name surfaced as a potential replacement.

Lowe may not be the best option — he is currently appearing on the NBC show “Parks and Recreation,” and has known the Sheen family for decades.

Warner Bros. officials have declined to comment about replacing Sheen or if the hit comedy will ever go back into production. “No decisions have been made,” said studio spokesman Paul McGuire.
