Lindsay Lohan refusing plea deal with jail time attached, sources say

LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan is not interested in any plea deal that includes her serving even one day in the slammer, sources close to the actress told TMZ Saturday.

Earlier in February, the actress was presented with a deal of three to six months jail time in exchange for pleading guilty to a felony grand-theft charge for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a high-end jeweler.

Currently on probation for a 2007 DUI case, Lohan was thought to be mulling the offer but sources told the entertainment website that the 24-year-old actress wants to take her chances and go to trial.

Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, is set to meet with the judge overseeing the case next week but Lohan insiders insist the actress will not bite at any offering that includes prison.

The troubled actress has until March 10 to accept the deal.

Lohan broke her silence this week, in her first interview since her rehab release, saying she is focusing on her recovery amid the legal drama unfolding around her.

“I feel great. I feel happy. There’s always you know … bumps we have on the road,” she told “Extra’s” Jerry Penacoli in an interview that aired Tuesday.

“As long as I’m focusing on the one thing that I know I need to put first in my life, which is my recovery and stuff, then I’m doing good and that’s most important to me,” Lohan said.

In addition to her probation for an earlier offense and her alleged jewelry theft, Lohan is also under investigation by police in Riverside, Calif., for allegedly assaulting an employee at the Betty Ford Center, where she was in treatment until Jan. 3.
