Kelsey Grammer is leaving his Hamptons house, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s leaving the Hamptons.
Grammer has found a buyer for his 7,500-square-foot home at 7 Morgan Hill Way in Bridgehampton. The undisclosed buyer has signed a contract at the $9.95 million asking price.
Brokers say the house was a bit underpriced, but Grammer, who recently divorced third wife Camille Donatacci, tells us the number was “fair.” The home, constructed by Farrell Building in 2006, is on 1.7 acres and comes with a two-story pool house and a tennis court.
A new Hamptons home might be in the cards for Grammer, who just married former flight attendant Kayte Walsh.
“While that’s likely, it’s entirely up to Kayte to decide what we do with our new life,” he says. But, he adds: “Everyone loves the Hamptons in the summer.”
Despite buzz that Grammer was interested in buying at the Plaza, the Emmy-winning actor tells us he’s happy with the $6.4 million unit he bought at the Jean Nouvel-designed 100 11th Ave. last year.
“We love our new place,” he says.
As this column first reported, Grammer closed on that 3,000-square-foot, four-bedroom apartment for well under its $7.52 million asking price in November.
What’s the big idea?
Ad mogul/TV personality Donny Deutsch has made another big bet on the Hamptons. The former host of CNBC’s “The Big Idea” is in contract for a 9,500-square-foot house on Ocean Road in Bridgehampton for about $20 million. (Last fall, Deutsch sold his East Hampton home on Further Lane for $30 million.)
The oceanfront mansion, sold by Joe Gregory, the former president of Lehman Brothers, saw multiple price reductions after Gregory first listed it for $32.5 million in 2008. The price was slashed to $27.9 million and then to $25 million. Gregory bought the house for $19 million in 2007 and upgraded it.
The eight-bedroom, 8½-bathroom house on 2.5 acres is protected by dunes and includes 200 feet of ocean frontage. Terraces and decks overlook a pool and a spa. The Corcoran Group’s Susan Breitenbach had the listing.
According to Vicky Ward’s book, “The Devil’s Casino,” Gregory, who resigned in 2008, and his wife, Niki, were portraits of excess. Ward reports that Niki gave other Lehman wives tours of her massive shoe closets at their Huntington home and had a personal staff of 30, while her husband had his own helicopter and seaplane and told colleagues his personal annual spending budget was $15 million.
Better off Ted
Ted Harbert, the chairman of NBC Broadcasting and former boyfriend of Chelsea Handler, has left Los Angeles for a fancy-pants New York City rental.
Harbert has moved into a 2,000-square-foot penthouse at 426 W. 58th St., which had a $14,000-a-month asking price. Harbert is living there with fiancée Lisa Medrano. Broker Joshua Judge of Sotheby’s declined to comment.
Holmes shopping
New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes was spotted checking out the new Setai hotel-condo development at 400 Fifth Ave. with Nest Seekers broker Ryan Serhant (one of the stars of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing”). Holmes saw a 55th-floor, three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom residence that’s listed for $5 million.
Seize matters
Hassan Nemazee, the disgraced Democratic fund-raiser who was convicted for bank fraud last year, had quite the real estate collection. Nemazee’s properties have been seized by the government and, as we previously reported, his 14-room duplex at 770 Park Ave. is on the market for $28 million. Now, his 20-acre estate in Katonah is also for sale, with a $4.9 million asking price.
After auditioning many brokers, the feds chose Sotheby’s Anne Corey, who with Serena Boardman helped sell Ponzi scamster Bernie Madoff’s apartment to Cabbage Patch doll kingpin Al Kahn for $8 million last year.
Sheffield shuffle
Grammy-nominated musician Eliane Elias has bought two units at the Sheffield, the condo conversion at 322 W. 57th St. Her daughter, singer Amanda Brecker, resides in one unit while Elias is holding the other as an investment property, a source says. Both units are one-bedrooms; one was listed for $995,000, and the other was listed for $910,000. Elias performed with her band at a private show at the Sheffield earlier this week.
