‘Teen Mom 2’ star, two other girls arrested for videotaped bust-up

OAK ISLAND, N.C. — Jenelle Evans, one of the stars of MTV’s reality show “Teen Mom 2,” was arrested late Sunday night after police saw a video of a fight between her and another girl, TMZ reported Monday.

TMZ posted footage last week of Evans, 19, allegedly attacking a young woman named Britany Truett while Evans’ friends cheered her on.

Before the fight, one of Evans’ friends is seen pushing her into Truett while others chant “hit her.” By the end of the confrontation, Evans appears to be repeatedly punching Truett in the face and head.

A warrant was issued for Evans’ arrest after police saw the video online.

Police in Oak Island, N.C., which is on the state’s southern coast, said Evans was arrested and charged with assault and affray, or disorderly conduct by fighting in a public place. She was booked into Brunswick County Jail and released on bond a short time later.

An attorney for Evans said, “Based on the information that I have received, I believe Jenelle was set up.”

TMZ reported later Monday that Truett and a third girl seen in the video, Brittany Maggard, were also arrested and charged with misdemeanor affray.

Evans is due to appear in court on April 26.
