‘Jersey’ husband in court

The troubled husband of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice was arraigned yesterday after being arrested Friday for trying to obtain a fake driver’s license.

Joe Giudice, 40, briefly appeared in Paterson, NJ, before Judge Philip Fenster, who maintained Giudice’s $50,000 bail and scheduled a pre-indictment hearing for April 19. Defying expectations, Giudice did not enter a plea at his arraignment.

Giudice lost his license last year for hitting a pole with his car and then failing a sobriety test. Although he spent a few days in jail for the incident, Giudice’s current trouble could be much worse.

A court spokesperson told The Post, “He cannot plea because it is an indictable offense; he has 2nd and 4th degree felony charges against him.”

Giudice’s next step will be the pre-indictment hearing in April where the judge will decide to either send the case to a grand jury or reduce the charges.

“I don’t think it will be reduced,” the court spokesperson told The Post. Giudice faces up to 10 years in prison for the fraudulent use of an ID and forgery.
