NY ticket prices plummet after Sheen show bombs in Detroit

Charlie’s “Torpedo of Truth” is all but blowing him out of the water in New York.

On the heels of Charlie Sheen’s disastrous debut in Detroit, which was marked by boos and catcalls Saturday night, scalpers have stooped to seeking bargain-basement prices in a bid to dump thousands of tickets for his Radio City Music Hall gig this week.

As of yesterday, more than 2,800 tickets were still available on Stubhub.com for Sheen’s shows on Friday and Sunday nights.

The prices had already dropped last week — but after his debacle in Detroit, they plummeted even more.

Tickets yesterday were ranging from $34 to $39, a far cry from their $126 face value and miles from the $575 that some ticket brokers had once been asking.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if prices came down even further,” said Stubhub.com spokeswoman Joellen Ferrera. “We could definitely see close to a fire sale.”

According to some reports, Sheen’s “My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option” tour had sold out within minutes in some cities. In reality, most of the tickets were grabbed by scalpers who are now facing serious losses.

Things went slightly better for Sheen last night in Chicago, as only a handful of the 3,600 audience members left early. The 90-minute show featured a Q&A format, where an unidentified man onstage tossed random questions at the unemployed actor.

Despite Sheen entering to a standing ovation, and sporadic chants of “Detroit sucks,” not all fans were pleased.

“As a show, it was worthless,” said Drew Michael, 25.

“Nothing happened and there was no point. The whole time I was bored, hoping it would end. “Everyone should be ashamed for cheering.”

But Joshua Caudill, 39, was more supportive.

“I think that he more than made up for the disaster that happened in Detroit,” he said.

During the Chicago show, Sheen, apparently recognizing the looming fiasco of his 20-city tour, admitted he’d crawl back to CBS if the producers of “Two and a Half Men” would rehire him.

Sheen, 45, also revealed minor details of his wild life — like partying with Mick Jagger and Eddie Van Halen.

He then addressed the reason he often pays for sex.

“Because I had millions to blow. I ran out of things to buy,” he reasoned.

Saturday in Detroit, Sheen walked onstage with his “goddesses,” former porn star Rachel Oberlin and model Natalie Kenly, who engaged in a passionate kiss, to the delight of the crowd. They then went backstage to burn a bowling shirt similar to the one Sheen often wore on his top-rated sitcom.

While it burned, Sheen launched into strange “poetry” that he made famous last month on his “Sheen’s Korner” Internet show. The boos continued for 90 minutes.

When he hits New York, he’ll have more problems than just bad ticket sales.

Several top hotels are refusing to rent rooms to him and his entourage after he trashed his pad at The Plaza last year while partying with an escort.
