Cops bust second kid for allegedly ripping off Muslim schoolgirl headdress

Police have nabbed the second prepubescent punk wanted for trying to rip off the religious headdress of a Muslim schoolgirl on Staten Island, The Post has learned.

Krystal Callender, 13, was picked up Friday by the Hate Crimes Task Force and brought to the 120th Precinct in St. George, where she was placed under arrest just before 9 p.m., according to authorities.

Krystal was hit with the same charges as 12-year-old youthful thug Osman Daramy, including felony assault as a hate crime and aggravated harassment as a hate crime, authorities said.

She and Osman are accused of terrorizing a 13-year-old Muslim classmate from Dreyfus Intermediate School several times over a two-month period.

On one occasion, they allegedly pushed the girl into the snow and began punching and kicking her while also trying to rip off her hijab outside the Stapleton school.

Krystal is also charged with attempted robbery, sources revealed.

During one run-in, the Muslim girl said she was going to make a phone call and Krystal allegedly called her a “bitch” and cursed at her, sources said.

The teenage terror then threatened to stab the victim with a knife unless she handed over her cell phone and all her money, sources added.

Krystal was already busted for the March 15 robbery of a pizza deliveryman outside Dreyfus Intermediate and had previously been suspended from the school for stealing $70 from a teacher’s purse in November, sources said.

She was arraigned Saturday in Family Court and released into the custody of her mother. She is due back in court tomorrow.

During Osman’s Family Court hearing on Thursday, Judge Helene Sacco ordered him held without bail until his next court appearance, which is also scheduled for tomorrow.

After highlighting his extensive juvenile record, she noted that he had the capacity to commit more crimes if he was freed.

If convicted of the charges, he faces up to 18 months in a juvenile facility.

Osman had previously been busted on Feb. 4 for a robbery and has been suspended from Dreyfus Intermediate three times since January.

The school has the third highest suspension rate in the borough among middle schools, according to the Department of Education.
