Wall Street executive who fell to his death had been drinking heavily: source

The Wall Street exec who accidentally fell out of his apartment window and plunged five floors to his death on Sunday had been drinking heavily with his wife right before the tumble, a police source said.

Keith Mastronardi, 31, opened the window in his Upper East Side apartment to let out smoke and somehow lost his footing, the source said.

His body landed in a courtyard behind their building.

After the unexpected accident, wife Debra Mastronardi — who the source said had also been drinking heavily — had to be taken out of the apartment in a stretcher.

Compounding the tragedy, his three young children, including a baby, were in the house at the time of his sudden death.

“He was an amazing and loving father and we’ll really miss him,” said his brother Marc Mastronardi.

The owner of a nearby wine store said that the couple were regular customers and had come in about a week ago to celebrate the recent birth of their daughter.

“Very, very nice couple. Always very happy together. The type of couple people would be jealous of,” said Gianluca Rottura.

“I saw him a week ago. He came in with his son to buy wine. And he said my wife was pregnant so we weren’t drinking for a while.”

He is horrified at the news of Mastronardi’s death.

“They were nice to everyone. Everyone loved them. When they walked down the street everyone said hello,” he said.

Mastronardi had worked as head of exotic derivatives at the Indian-based Vyapar Capital Market Partners.

In September, he posted on his Facebook page: “We are having a GIRL!!!” The couple also had two sons, Tyler and Luca.

“They had a certain energy. The kids were happy. These are the type of people you look at and say how can I get that,” said Rottura.
