The NBA has fined the New Jersey Nets $50,000 after minority owner Jay-Z visited Kentucky’s locker room after the team’s NCAA Elite Eight victory, SNY-TV and ESPN reported yesterday.
The hip-hop mogul was photographed March 31 in the locker room at Newark’s Prudential Center with Wildcats Josh Harrellson, Brandon Knight, Terrence Jones and Darius Miller. Kentucky had just beaten North Carolina to clinch a berth in the Final Four.
The NBA prohibits teams from having excessive contact with college players until they declare for the NBA Draft.
