Police seek suspect in fatal shooting of New Jersey liquor store clerk

WEST ORANGE, N.J. — Police in West Orange, N.J., were searching Saturday for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a liquor store clerk, the Star-Ledger reported.

James Wilson, 28, was shot and killed around 9:30pm Friday while working at Chestnut Wine and Liquors in West Orange, Essex County Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Katherine Carter said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not have a suspect or a motive in the shooting, Carter said. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and West Orange police are investigating the shooting.
