Bronx

A gutsy Bronx parking-garage attendant fended off a knife-wielding thug and an accomplice — and was slashed as he pushed out the ruthless pair before they could steal anything, authorities said.

The violence erupted at 5:30 p.m. Sunday when the would-be thieves sauntered into the garage at East 143rd Street and Morris Avenue in Mott Haven, demanded money and pulled what appeared to be a butcher knife.

When the 58-year-old victim refused to hand over cash, the armed suspect lunged at him, stabbing him in the torso.

The wounded attendant then pushed out the slasher and his pal, who fled without taking money. The victim was treated at Lincoln Hospital and released.
