In his forthcoming book, “The Captain,” Ian O’Connor discusses how Derek Jeter and A-Rod went from close friends to enemies by A-Rod’s early years with the Yankees. According to Connor, the breakup occurred in 2000 when A-Rod made a series of comments criticizing his then friend. Despite A-Rod’s attempts to apologize, Jeter reportedly wouldn’t forgive him.
