Knicks season ends with no regrets

Landry Fields kept a daily playoff diary for The Post, as the 22-year-old rookie shooting guard chronicled his first-ever postseason series in the Knicks’ first-round loss to the Celtics. As told to Mark Hale.

It’s tough having the season end. Definitely not the way I wanted to end, individually and, more importantly, collectively as a group.

We definitely have high hopes for ourselves, but a lot of growth, a lot of experience, came from this and I think if we’re taking it into next year, we should be good.

This game, it’s a never-say-die attitude with this team. I think with the character makeup that we have, nobody wants to lose, or we weren’t going to go out without leaving everything on the court. And I think we did that. Anthony Carter came in with a lot of heart, a lot of effort, made some big shots. You’ve got Amar’e Stoudemire, who’s hurt, playing really good basketball. Really, it was a lot to learn from it. I think that kind of character makeup, it should be great as a team.

I absolutely can work within this team and this offense. I’m the kind of guy where I fit in. I’m going to fit in. I’m a glue guy. Whatever the coaches need me to do, whatever my teammates need me to do, I’m going to do. I’m not going to go out there and be on my own. I just want to win.

I’ll work hard this offseason and then next year sit down with the coaches, ask them where I can be most successful and that’s what I’m going to do. The way this season ended will motivate me going into the offseason, big time. It’s certainly not how I wanted to end. Definitely got a chip on my shoulder.

I want to work on everything this summer. . . . coming into next year, I want to bring that energy, that kind of tenacious attitude that I started off with. I should be good.

This season was definitely a success. Things that I’ve accomplished and even things that I didn’t accomplish, I think looking back at this year, what I’ve gone through, even though times were tough, it’s all a growing process. You need some of these valleys to really get your game going and take it into next year for experience.

I’m thankful for everything that’s happened. No regrets.
