In a public TV announcement, President Obama said Bin Laden was shot dead after a brief firefight and that US forces took possession of his body. Pakistani and American forces have sealed off a 3-mile-radius around the area and are now blocking all roads into the suburb. Residents have also been asked to stay indoors.
