They weren’t feeling the love.
Two men from New Jersey got into a fistfight across the street from Ground Zero yesterday after they bumped and exchanged words.
Witnesses said the altercation happened shortly after 8 a.m. at Church and Vesey streets, where crowds have been gathering since the weekend to celebrate the death of Osama bin Laden.
But these two men, who had just gotten off a PATH train at the World Trade Center stop, weren’t caught up in the patriotic spirit that has brought New Yorkers together in a manner not seen since the days after the 9/11 attack.
According to police, one man punched the other in the face.
Cops arrested Vassili Safonov 44, of Westfield, NJ, and charged him with third-degree assault.
The victim, Christopher Snyder, wiped blood from his lip but declined medical attention.
